WAVELAND, MS (WLOX) -

Waveland Police are searching for a suspect they believe is the trigger-man in a shooting that sent another man to the hospital Thursday afternoon.

Two felony arrest warrants have been issued for Leif Eric Dasco, who is wanted for aggravated assault and shooting into an occupied building.

Police say it all started at a barber college on Highway 90 shortly before 1 p.m. Thursday afternoon.

"A couple of gentlemen pulled up, had word got into a scuffle with them, one of them went back to his car got a rifle and started firing," Police Chief David Allen said.

Witnesses say the altercation started between Dasco and another man inside of the Barber College, but quickly escalated into potentially deadly violence in the parking lot.

"Shot all up in our window, shot next to our car, in this other man's car and shot up in the shop. He could have killed somebody man," said the barber college co-owner, Matthew Mims. "He could have hit anybody. That's what I call a stone coward; anybody got to shoot an unarmed man cause you get a whipping. It doesn't take all that."

Witnesses say the victim was a client about to get his hair cut when the Dasco unloaded at least 15 rounds at the victim, and into the building.

"It was a long barreled shot-gun he was firing past me, and fired into the building. He could have killed anybody he had no regard for life period," said co-owner Constance Mims. "The first thing I was thinking is why is this happening and why is it happening at my business when it had absolutely nothing to do with me."

Authorities say the victim, whose name has not been released at this time, was shot twice in a leg. His injuries are believed to be non-life threatening.

Later Thursday, the Hancock County SWAT Team sent a Flash Bang Into a home on Margie Street they believed the Dasco may have been. Officials came prepared to make an arrest but after entering the home, SWAT determined he wasn't there.

Felony warrants for aggravated assault and shooting into an occupied building have been issued for Dasco's arrest. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact the Waveland Police Department at 228-255-9191 or Mississippi Coast Crime Stoppers at 877-787-5898.
