10th ranked Texas A&M pulled away from LSU in the second half for a 71-57 victory

BILOXI, MS (WLOX) -

Before 13,888 fans in Reed Arena in College Station, the biggest crowd ever, Texas A&M took care of business to defeat LSU.

The Aggies held Tigers freshman sensation Ben Simmons to 10 points and 11 rebounds.  Simmons was averaging 20 points per game.

Tim Quarterman led LSU (11-7, 4-2 SEC) with 12 points.  Craig Victor scored 10 points.

Jalen Jones led the Aggies (16-2, 6-0 SEC) with 20 points and freshman Tyler Davis chipped in 18 points.

LSU kept the game close in the first half and led by six points.  The Tigers went cold and Texas A&M scored the last 8 points to take a 38-34 lead at halftime.

The Tigers were outscored 16-5 on second-chance points.
