BILOXI, MS (WLOX) -

An armed robbery suspect was arrested Sunday after police found him hiding out in a closet at his girlfriend’s house in Biloxi.

According to Biloxi police Sgt. O’Neil Adams, the suspect, identified as 27-year-old Timothy Chase Brooks, called the victim earlier in the day and asked him to pick him up and take him to a nearby store.

The victim agreed. Adams said the victim picked up Brooks on the street in the 12000 block of Shorecrest Road.

According to Adams, Brooks held the victim at knifepoint and stole his wallet, cash and cell phone. He then got out of the vehicle and ran from the scene on foot.

Adams said officers later recovered some of the stolen property from Brooks’ girlfriend’s house, also located in the 12000 block of Shorecrest. Brooks was found hiding in a closet and was arrested without incident.

Adams said Brooks is being held at the Harrison County Adult Detention Center on a $50,000 bond for armed robbery.
