Trial postponed for investor accused in fraud scheme

GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) - The trial has been postponed for an investment broker accused in a fraud scheme.

William Carl Miller, the attorney for Eduardo Diaz, says the former investor will head to trial on April 4, 2016.

A grand jury indicted Diaz in October 2014. He's accused of scheming to defraud money and property from investors in Harrison and Jackson counties. The indictment alleges that instead of investing clients' money, Diaz secretly converted their money for his own use.

Diaz has pleaded not guilty. Pretrial conferences will begin in March.
