SOUTH MISSISSIPPI (WLOX) - Drivers died in two separate accidents on South Mississippi roads Thursday. Mississippi Highway Patrol officials said the accidents happened just after 3 p.m.
Cpl. Benjamin Seibert, MHP spokesman, said 17-year-old Tyler Fairley, of Lucedale, was killed when his vehicle left the roadway and hit a utility pole on Highway 26 in George County. His passenger suffered life threatening injuries and was airlifted to USA Medical Center in Mobile.
In Pearl River County, troopers responded to a head-on collision on Highway 53. Officials say 72-year-old Diane Beith, of Carriere, died when her Toyota Camry collided with a Kia Sedona. The driver of the Sedona sustained minor injuries.
