WIGGINS, MS (WLOX) -

Wiggins police say tips from the public helped them track down a man wanted in a felony shoplifting case.

"The Wiggins Police Department wishes to thank WLOX and the local community for their assistance in identifying Brian Dace as the suspect in a felony shoplifting from Walmart on 12/30/15," Detective Corporal Richard Gulledge said in a statement Tuesday.

Gulledge said Dace was taken into custody in Gautier, with the help of that city's law enforcement officers. He's currently being held at the Jackson County Adult Detention center awaiting transfer to Stone County.

Investigators believe Dace is the man spotted on surveillance video stealing six iPhones from the Wiggins Walmart last Wednesday. The iPhones are worth a total of almost $2,700, making this a felony shoplifting case.

If you have any information that could help police with this case, you're asked to call the Wiggins Police Department Criminal Investigations Division at (601) 928-5444 or MS Coast Crime Stoppers at 1-877-787-5898.
