HANCOCK COUNTY, MS (WLOX) -

Tonight on WLOX News, we'll have new information regarding a case involving a man who was reportedly naked on Interstate 10.

According to court documents obtained by WLOX, charges filed against Safa Alidoust in Mississippi have either been dropped, or set aside, and likely never to be heard in court.

Alidoust was arrested by Hancock County deputies on Interstate 10 in late August. The sheriff was quoted that day saying Alidoust wrestled with deputies before they could “finally subdue him after about 10 or 15 minutes of fighting with him, which in turn injured one of our officers.”

Since the Aug. 30 arrest, the government’s case against Alidoust has basically fell apart. On Nov. 19, a grand jury determined there was not enough evidence to indict Alidoust of making false claims that he carried explosives.

Alidoust also faced two assault charges, but prosecutors tell WLOX News they requested the charges be set aside and ultimately dropped.

On Dec. 1, a Hancock County Justice Court judge signed an order that ultimately drops the charges, as long as Alidoust stays out of trouble for one year.
