OCEAN SPRINGS, MS (WLOX) -

New details about the debate over those majestic oaks trees that define Lover's Lane in Ocean Springs.

A new report is raising more safety concerns about some of the trees.

Arborist Jim Heinzel says one of the trees that leans over Lover's Lane should be removed, because it's not stable and limits visibility for drivers.

He says a second tree also has similar safety concerns.

In the past, residents have expressed concerns about emergency vehicles like fire trucks not being able to get to the scene because of the trees.

The building department hopes to meet with neighbors next month to discuss these findings before deciding whether to remove or trim the trees.

In the meantime, they're calling for reflectors to be placed on the limbs to improve safety.
