WAVELAND, MS (WLOX) -

Decades of military and law enforcement experience are what instructors with Quiet Professionals rely on when passing on their knowledge.

After recent national and international events, they say they've been busy.

"It's a sad fact that anytime something happens like San Bernardino , the phone starts ringing off the hook," said instructor, Ray Murphy.

Murphy helps people obtain enhanced endorsements. He, along with Robbie Cox, taught a group at the Waveland Fire Department Saturday.

"The first part of the course is we teach them, and go over the Mississippi law," said Murphy. "This includes many topics like liability, what to do in the after math of a shooting and above all, safety. This includes classroom time and practice at the shooting range."

Clara Drumm was one of the students taking advantage of the class.

"I want to be trained. I want to know the laws, I want to know my rights," said Drumm.

Drumm doesn't have a concealed carry license yet, but plans to get one after receiving an enhanced endorsement. She says it was important to her to receive training first.

"Safety is the number one thing. Not only are you learning your laws, you're learning your rights. But, they're also going to teach you how to handle a gun properly, safely," said Drumm.

As for others, the concealed carry came first. Jimmy Necaise has experience with firearms and a concealed carry license, but says he wanted to train even further.

"I think everybody should go through this; that's not experienced, or experienced," said Necaise.

According to Necaise, he's never been in a situation that required the use of a firearm, and he hopes he never will be, but wants to be prepared.

"Protect yourself, protect your family. That's what it's all about," Necaise said.
