Wicker: Obama should reassess terrorism strategy

Sen. Roger Wicker Sen. Roger Wicker
BILOXI, MS (WLOX) -

For just the third time in his presidency, President Barack Obama addressed the country from the Oval Office during prime time.

Obama's speech came on the heels of last Wednesday's shooting in San Bernardino, CA, that killed 14 people and wounded 21 others. Obama said the U.S. will continue to create a political solution in Syria and here at home.

Sen. Roger Wicker said the President should reassess his terrorism strategy. In a statement released just after the president's speech Sunday night, Wicker said, “This is a pivotal moment in the fight against terrorism. In the wake of the deadliest terrorist attack on American soil since September11, the President needs to reassess his strategy."

Wicker went on to stress, "It is clear that more needs to be done to combat the scourge of Islamic extremism threatening the world. Unfortunately, the President’s address tonight offered the American people nothing new about how we are going to win this war."
