STONE COUNTY, MS (WLOX) -

Stone County Hospital made a generous donation to help out their local community.  In a ceremony Thursday morning, the hospital unveiled their newest ultrasound system equipment.

The hospital donated its previous equipment to The Animal Clinic in Wiggins. Veterinarian Warren Martin accepted the donation from hospital administrator Joan Strayham.

Warren says the technology will help animals receive better care.

“We’re very excited about having this technology to help us better identify and diagnose potential problems in the pets that we see from Stone County. The same benefits seen when ultrasounds are used on humans can have the same impact on our pets. We thank Stone County Hospital for this gracious donation,” said Martin.

The hospital replaced its existing Philips Envisor ultrasound machine with the Logic S8, which is a high power, industry leading imaging tool. Hospital officials say with a press of a button, the machine is ready to go in seconds.

“We see images immediately and make life-saving decisions quickly and successfully,” said Sabrina Christopher, director of radiology.

Christopher says this technology and the speed of this equipment are critical for real time situations when vital information is needed quickly.
