OCEAN SPRINGS, MS (WLOX) -

An Ocean Springs woman has been arrested and charged with exploitation of a vulnerable adult after a month long investigation.

Ashley Ann Bandyk, 27, is accused of embezzling $91,000 from a man she was hired to care for.

Ocean Springs police Capt. William Jackson said the crime was first reported on Nov. 2, 2015.

According to police, Bandyk was hired by the victim to help in his daily routine and manage his finances, which he could not tend to because of medical conditions.

Jackson said investigators discovered Bandyk had created a PayPal account using a fraudulent business to siphon money from her victim.

Bandyk was arrested Tuesday and charged with exploitation of a vulnerable adult. She was booked into the Ocean Springs Jail on a $200,000 bond.
