When blood transfusions are needed the blood must be there, ready to go, immediately. Accident victims, cancer patients, or those who need emergency surgery can't wait for the hospital to find someone to donate blood.
The need is immediate and the need is constant. Unfortunately, during the holiday season, donations tend not to be constant. You can help make sure there is always a supply of blood on hand for those who cannot wait.
The American Red Cross is urging you to become a donor and to "Give Something that means Something." Of course, it's your decision. It's your blood. Blood that can become your gift of life.
