D'IBERVILLE, MS (WLOX) -

D’Iberville police responded to a wreck involving at least two vehicles around 6 p.m. Tuesday. Deputy Chief Clay Jones said an 18-wheeler was possibly involved, but the accident remains under investigation.

Jones said the accident happened on Highway 67 north of Sangani Boulevard in D’Iberville.

According to Jones, the accident began when a vehicle came to a stop on the roadway. A second vehicle attempted to avoid the stopped vehicle by swerving into the other lane. However, when the driver swerved, the vehicle rear-ended another vehicle that was disabled on the roadway.

Jones says an 18-wheeler could be involved, but what exactly happened is unclear right now. He says the people involved are a little shaken up at the moment.

Officials say four people were transported to area hospitals with non life-threatening injuries.

According to Jones, statements are conflicting at this time. We will update this story as we learn new information.
