WAVELAND, MS (WLOX) -

The man who was shot to death in his Waveland home Sunday was likely targeted by his killer, according to Police Chief David Allen. Jason Duffy, 42, was shot in the head at his home on Dicks Street early Sunday morning.

Police have not made any arrests in the case, but Allen said citizens should not be worried about a random gunman on the loose.

"We do not believe this was random. We believe he was targeted," said Allen. “It is possible that this is drug related, but it is early in the investigation."

An autopsy was completed Monday, but Allen is not releasing the details of the findings. Police are building a time line of events leading up to the shooting, but are not tipping their hands as to possible suspects in the case.

"We're keeping the details pretty close to the chest right now," Allen said.

The case remains under investigation. If you have any information that could help the investigation, please contact Waveland police at 228-255-9191.
