Volunteers needed to lay 9,000 wreaths at Biloxi National Cemetery

BILOXI, MS (WLOX) -

Crusaders for Veterans is calling for volunteers to help lay more than 9,000 wreaths on the graves of military veterans at the Biloxi National Cemetery this Saturday, Dec. 5.

The nonprofit organization is asking for hundreds of patriotic volunteers to lend a hand to help unload and lay the wreaths to honor our nation’s heroes.

Crusaders for Veterans is asking for volunteers to fill two time slots Saturday. The first group will meet at the committal shelter at the Biloxi National Cemetery at 7 a.m. to unload the thousands of wreaths. The second group will meet at the committal shelter at 11 a.m. to take part in the Laying of the Wreaths ceremony.

Scott Miller, Executive Officer of the Naval Oceanographic ASW Center at Stennis Space Center, will be on hand to speak during the ceremony.

Organizers say there’s no need to sign up for those who want to help out. For more information, please call 217-201-1330.
