Police: Investigation underway after man shot dead in Waveland

WAVELAND, MS (WLOX) -

The Waveland Police Department is investigating an early morning shooting that left one man dead.

Police Chief David Allen said 42-year-old Jason Duffy was shot Sunday just after 4 a.m. Allen said Duffy was shot in the head at his home on Dicks Street in Waveland.

Officials say Duffy was transported to Memorial Hospital at Gulfport where he later died from his injuries.

Waveland investigators and state crime scene technicians are at the scene processing evidence.

According to authorities, no suspect is in custody yet and the investigation is ongoing. Of course, WLOX will continue to update this story as more information develops.
