HANCOCK COUNTY, MS (WLOX) -

A Utah man was transported to the hospital Sunday morning after his FedEx truck overturned on I-10 in Hancock County. According to Mississippi Highway Patrol spokesman Cpl. Benjamin Seibert, the truck overturned at exit 2 just before 7 a.m.

Seibert said the driver was 55-year-old Dwight Miska. He was transported by AMR to North Shore hospital in Slidell with life threatening injuries.

Officials say Miska was headed westbound on I-10 when he hit the median, which caused his truck to overturn.

One lane was temporarily closed, but Seibert says both lanes are now back open. However, the area remains extremely congested and MHP officials are asking drivers to avoid the area if possible.
