MOSS POINT, MS (WLOX) -

On the outside of Trendsetters Barber Champs, were people ready to eat.

"I feel good! I'm ready to eat!" Lorenzo Walley said

But before the feast could happen, inside, hands came together and heads where bowed as Isaiah Franklin said a blessing over the food.

"This is for everybody - the fortunate, the less fortunate. It doesn't matter this is for everybody," shop owner Eric Barnes said.

Michelle Stringfield says she came to Barnes just a few weeks ago with the idea of the community holiday dinner.

"God gave me the vision and what he gave me is exactly what's come together today," Stringfield said.

As those in need and those who just wanted to congregate came through the doors to get a hot meal, tears of joy started to flood from Stringfield's eyes.

"This is awesome. This is so awesome," Stringfield said.

Stringfield says for the love of her city, the meal couldn't have happened without the love and support from family, friends and other community members.

"It's always a wonderful thing that you can bring together a group of people with one cause, with one heart to do something wonderful," volunteer Maggie Williams said.

The leftovers from the hot feast were taken to the police and fire departments.

"That's why I do it. This is my city and I love my city and I'm trying to bring more positivity back to my community,," Stringfield said.
