The MGCCC Bulldogs (7-0) continued their winning ways at the Gulf Coast Thanksgiving Classic by pulling away from Southern-Shreveport 83-72 Tuesday night.
The game was tied with 4:09 left when Bulldogs head coach Wendell Weathers called timeout.
"I told them, You've got to win the next four minutes, "stated Weathers. "In that four minutes, everything changed. Our defense got better, we go more solid and we took every rebound. That was the difference."
Davion Cole-Johnson led MGCCC with 25 points. Deshawn Jones netted 13, and Internee Hampston scored 10 points.
The Jaguars were led by DeAngelo McClinton's 31 points.
Weathers said, "We couldn't ask to be any better. We're 7-0, and I never expected that at this point. The thing that bothers me is four days off and getting them back, but I love where we're at. I think we're getting better."
Gulf Coast will take the Thanksgiving break before returning on the basketball court on December 3 hosting Jones in Perkinston, opening MACJC play.
