GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) -

Gulfport Councilman R. Lee Flowers wants future developers to build to a higher standard on Highway 605. Since 605, commonly known as Cowan-Lorraine Road, is designated as a scenic byway, Flowers says developers need to make sure their projects are aesthetically pleasing.

Flowers cited recent examples, like the new Dollar General store and the Bridgewater Development. He said nicer looking buildings will entice more commercial projects, customers and tourists to come to Gulfport.
