Convicted felon arrested after police find butcher knife in vehicle

BILOXI, MS (WLOX) -

A convicted felon who was on probation was arrested Saturday after Biloxi police discovered a butcher knife in his vehicle.

The Biloxi Police Department charged 24-year-old Wayne Marc Williams with felon in possession of a weapon after felony conviction.

Sgt. Donnie Dobbs said Williams was on probation for a robbery conviction. He had initially been stopped for traffic violations and possession of a small amount of marijuana.

Police say a search through his vehicle led to the discovery of an eight inch long knife. Officials say Williams admitted that he knew the weapon was in his vehicle.

In case you didn’t know, it is a felony for any convicted felon to be in possession of a weapon.

Williams was taken to the Harrison County Adult Detention Center pending an appearance bond of $10,000.

He also received a $1,429 bond from the Biloxi Municipal Court for the simple possession and the traffic violations.
