BILOXI, MS (AP) -

An investigation into a rash of burglaries in Biloxi led to the arrest of Irie Ikeem Williamson, 23, and Edward Earl Brown, 19, according to police.

Reports came from the 800 block of Cedar Lake Road about two males who were pulling on car door handles to see which vehicles were left unlocked. Police responding to the calls made contact with the duo and linked them to several burglaries in the area.

As the investigation went on, officers uncovered that Williamson and Brown were involved in additional burglaries. Police say they also broke into cars in the 1900 block of Popp's Ferry Road. The two are also linked to grand larceny of a car in that same area. Police later found the car parked on Cedar Lake Road.

Williamson and Brown are both facing seven counts of burglary of an auto and one count of grand larceny of an auto.

Brown was out on bond for a Gulfport burglary charge at the time of his arrest. Both were taken to the Harrison County Adult Detention Center.
