Couple arrested for arson in Vancleave house fire

JACKSON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) -

According to the Jackson County Sheriff's Department, a couple has been arrested for arson in connection with a summer house fire in Vancleave.

JCSD and the Jackson County fire Department responded to a 'fully involved unoccupied house fire' in the 6900 block of Rolling Hills Drive in Vancleave on August 10. Officials spoke to neighbors and determined that the home belonged 45-year-old Laurie Ann Terry. 

Terry's husband, 46-year-old Gregory Steven Alford of Grand Bay Alabama, was arrested on Nov. 17, and Terry was taken into custody the following day.

Both Alford and Terry are charged with first degree arson, and could possibly face more charges. 

The investigation is ongoing, anyone with information regarding the fire is asked to call Sgt. Edwards at 228-769-3065.
