JACKSON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) -

Officials with the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks say the investigation into the Jackson County boating accident that killed two men is focused on obstructions in the waters of the Pascagoula River.

According to DWFP's Barry Delcambre, it’s still unclear what the men may have hit with their boat after leaving San Juan Marina Wednesday on a fishing trip.

The families of Screano Hilton, 69, and Butch Moran, 72, reported the two missing Wednesday night. Their bodies were found Thursday in the marsh north I-10 of Vancleave. Officials say neither was wearing a life jacket at the time of the accident.

Delcambre says even experienced boaters should be cautious navigating the waterways because rivers are constantly changing and debris and other obstructions move with the water.
