MOSS POINT, MS (WLOX) -

On Friday, a Moss Point man pled guilty to three counts of possession of a controlled substance.

According to District Attorney Tony Lawrence, 36-year-old Lattimore Walley was sentenced to 20 years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections for two counts of possession stemming from a September 17, 2014 traffic stop in Moss Point.

Additionally, Walley was also sentenced to eight years on post release supervision (consecutive to the 20 year sentence) for one count of possession stemming from a November 12, 2014 traffic stop.

“Drug dealers feed the addictions that cause so much of the crime that we see in this community. I commend the work of the South Mississippi Metro Enforcement Team for their work in this case and the teamwork approach that is back in force in Jackson County," said Lawrence. "I hope this twenty year sentence sends a message to other drug users or dealers that their actions will not be tolerated.”
