Jackson Co. deputies responding to bomb threat at St. Martin High School

ST. MARTIN, MS (WLOX) -

Officials with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department tell us deputies are responding to a bomb threat at St. Martin High School, and students are in the process of being evacuated to the middle and upper elementary gyms.

“The security plan calls for them to take the students to the middle school in inclement weather instead of standing outside,” said Jackson County School District Superintendent Dr. Barry Amacker. “We are going to err on the side of caution, we aren’t going to take any chances.”

School district officials are urging parents to not attempt to check students out of school because it will add to the confusion.

Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of the person responsible for the threat. You can make an anonymous tip by calling 1-877-787-5898.
