Memorial service set for MSU football player, father killed in car crash

STARKVILLE, MS (WLOX) -

A memorial service date has been set for the Mississippi State University football player and his father, who were both killed in a car accident Friday night.

Mississippi State Athletics will a host a service honoring 18-year-old Keith Joseph, Jr. and 44-year-old Keith Joseph, Sr. at 12:30 p.m. Thursday in Humphrey Coliseum. The service will be open for the public to attend.

Officials say the father and son died in a one-car crash en route to a Pascagoula High School home football game. Joseph, Jr. played at the high school last year and was redshirting as a freshman this season for the Bulldogs.

Joseph, Sr. was a Bulldog linebacker from 1989 to 1992. He also played at Pascagoula High School.

According to the university’s website, a moment of silence will be observed before the MSU game against third ranked Alabama at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Davis Wade Stadium.
