GAUTIER, MS (WLOX) -

An entire community came together to show appreciation and support to veterans Monday. In its 16th year, Gautier High School's Veterans Day Breakfast has become a tradition that draws hundreds of veterans every year from all across the country.

Students and faculty from throughout the school district pitched in to make the annual event a success.

First year Principal Al Sparkman said the day not only allows veterans to be shown the appreciation they deserve, but it also teaches a life lesson. He said he's proud to see his students learning about the sacrifices that the men and women who served in our armed forces have made.

Jonathan Brannan will tell you all about the appreciation event this evening. Look for his story on WLOX News and WLOX.com.
