Long Beach woman pleads guilty to failure to report a death

LONG BEACH, MS (WLOX) -

Late Thursday evening, WLOX News confirmed that a Long Beach woman facing multiple felony charges has now pleaded guilty to one of the charges.

According to Harrison County Prosecutor Herman Cox, 63-year-old Christy Lee Zarrella pleaded guilty to failure to report the death of 87-year-old Edward A. Miller, and was sentenced to 90 days in county jail. 

Zarrella still faces two felony charges in connection with Miller's death — tampering with evidence, which carries a maximum sentence of three years, and desecration of a corpse, which carries a maximum sentence of five years. Both charges will be brought before a grand jury.
