Phil Bryant re-elected as Governor of Mississippi

MISSISSIPPI (AP/WLOX) - Phil Bryant has been re-elected to a second term as the State of Mississippi Governor.

At a GOP victory party in Jackson, Governor Bryant told the crowd, "We must make sure Mississippi doesn't fail." He told supporters, "My goal is to make you proud of us."

Governor Bryant said he was happy to be able to spend four more years "doing what we love."

The Republican Governors Association issued the following statement on Governor Phil Bryant's re-election victory in Mississippi:

"Mississippi is better off today because of Governor Phil Bryant's commitment to a stronger, more vibrant state, and voters rightly rewarded his effective leadership with a second term," said RGA Chairman Governor Bill Haslam. "Governor Bryant was given a mandate today to continue fostering pro-growth policies that shrink unemployment, create jobs, develop a stronger workforce and make government more efficient. With Governor Bryant at the helm, Mississippi's future is bright. The RGA is proud to congratulate Governor Bryant on his re-election."
