Mississippi Gulf Coast took care of business on Saturday in the MACJC semifinals, taking down Itawamba 49-17 in Perkinston.
The Bulldogs (8-2) advance to the state championship game 2 p.m. Saturday facing No. 1 ranked Northwest on the road.
Gulf Coast extended its streak of 138 weeks in the NJCAA Top 20 poll dating back to September 27, 2005. The Bulldogs have been ranked in the top 10 for 113 of those weeks, piling up an impressive 95-22 record (.812).
Interested Gulf Coast fans have an opportunity to take a Fan Bus to watch the MGCCC-Northwest title game at a cost of $15. The bus is slated to depart from the Bell Tower on the Perkinston Campus at 7 a.m. on Saturday.
The cost does not include a game ticket or meals. The Fan Bus will make stops for lunch and dinner.
Game tickets cost $5.
