GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) - The Gulfport man who is accused of shooting and robbing a man on Halloween has surrendered to police. Sgt. Damon McDaniel said Raheem Tyrese Richardson is charged with aggravated assault and armed robbery.
McDaniel said officers responded to the reported shooting at the Mississippi Avenue Apartments around 3:10 p.m. Saturday. That's where police found the victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the upper torso.
According to investigators, Richardson, 22, showed up at the victim's home and shot him multiple times with an unknown caliber firearm. McDaniel said Richardson then took money from the victim before leaving the scene on foot.
The victim was taken to an area hospital for medical treatment.
McDaniel said warrants for aggravated assault and armed robbery were issued for Richardson, and he turned himself in to police Sunday.
Richardson remains behind bars at the Harrison County Adult Detention Center on a $200,000 bond.
