GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) - An off duty Gulfport firefighter was arrested early Sunday morning after police say he shot a guest at his home in the leg. Scott Lebron Stuckey, 54, of Gulfport, is charged with Aggravated Assault.
Officers were called to his home in the 13300 block of Roxbury Place around 3:38am in response to a disturbance. Before the officers even got to the house, they were told the fight had escalated to a shooting.
Investigators said Stuckey and the victim were arguing when Stuckey pulled out a firearm and shot the man in the leg. The victim was taken by ambulance to the hospital, while Stuckey was taken to the Gulfport Police Department. He's being held at the Harrison County Adult Detention Center in lieu of a $25,000 bond set
WLOX News reached out to Gulfport Fire Chief Michael Beyerstadt for a comment on the arrest of one of his firefighters. He said the department is in the process of conducting an administrative investigation into the arrest. For now, Stuckey is on administrative leave. Chief Beyerstadt said Stuckey has been a firefighter for more than 15 years.
