SOUTH MISSISSIPPI (WLOX) -

A Flash Flood Watch is in effect for the entire WLOX viewing area from Saturday evening through Sunday afternoon. A storm system across the South, causing flooding and severe weather across parts of Texas and Louisiana, will be headed to Mississippi this weekend.

As numerous showers and storms move from west to east across South Mississippi on Saturday night into early Sunday morning, about two to five inches of rainfall will be possible, which could cause flash flooding issues in urban and low-lying areas.

"It won't rain all-day on Saturday," mentioned WLOX Meteorologist Wesley Williams. "South Mississippi may not see most of the heavy rain until Saturday night."
