Sci-Fi Fans Gather In Biloxi For Coastcon 28

For some, it's practically a way of life.

"Yeah, it's almost my daily attire," says Biloxi teen Jessica Tempone in her full length robe.

"CoastCon is basically part of my life," she added.

For others it just good health escapism.

"This is our first time, says Larry Dunn of Biloxi.

"We've read about it before but never able to come out," he said.

But for the hundreds who attend CoastCon, it's the only place to let your imaginations soar beyond the earthy bounds of space and time.

"We have Klingons, and elves and ogres, all kinds of people running around here this weekend, says Lon Jerome, Chairman of CoastCon Inc.

"And with the troubles we have in the world, you need a little escapism," Jerome said.

Along with legendary Sci Fi icons like actor Walter Koenig who played Mr. Chekov on Star Trek, CoastCon also gives enthusiasts an up close look at other worlds to inhabit through games, videos, and even wardrobe.

It seems everyone, even security guards decked out in vintage Star Trek uniforms, get into the act.

And no one is left out on the fun, during this yearly Sci fi and Fantasy family reunion that's nothing short of out of this world.
