Due to injuries and other factors Long Beach head coach Forrest Williams has used three different quarterback. All three have taken advantage of No. 3 senior wide receiver Trevor Terry.
Quarterback Mitch McCaleb connected with Terry 10 times for 267 yards, three touchdowns and not one, but two, two-point conversions to help Long Beach upset Picayune 36-34 in overtime, handing the Maroon Tide their first Region 4-5A setback.
"Picayune has always been a tough opponent for Long Beach and it was real cool to go out and upset them, have a big game, "stated Terry. "It really meant a lot because I helped my team win. This year I've gotten a lot better with yards after catch and I can go up and get the ball."
Coach Williams said, "Well we think Trevor has done a great job all year long and he just continues to improve great leaps and bounds from his junior year and all of our quarterbacks have a lot of confidence that they can put the ball in the area and he'll go get it."
Terry has 47 receptions in ten games for 1,101 yards and eleven touchdowns. The 6-1, 175 pound senior also excels in defense coming up with 45 total tackles. Trevor Terry is the WLOX Player of the Week.
Long Beach junior quarterback Mitch McCaleb also had an exceptional game. He passed for 445 yards and five touchdowns.
The Bearcats entertain Stone High Friday night.
