Drivers, slow down: Hwy 90 sand removal underway

HARRISON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) -

MDOT crews are busy uncovering Highway 90. Large sections of the beachfront road are a sandy mess. 

Storm winds blew plenty of beach onto the roadway. Among the worst spots are the area in front of Edgewater Mall and around Hewes Avenue. 

MDOT's Vincent Necaise said three crews are assigned to sand removal. He expects the worst will be cleared off by the end of the day Monday. He urges drivers to use caution and slow down in the areas where road crews are working.
