SAUCIER, MS (WLOX) - A Harrison County family is picking up the pieces after an overnight fire destroyed their home and claimed the life of a family pet late Tuesday night.
Harrison County Fire Chief Pat Sullivan said crews responded to the fire on Early Wynn Drive in Saucier around 10:30 p.m. Sullivan said flames were shooting out of the doublewide mobile home when the first units arrived on the scene.
Sixteen firefighters and six units from Saucier, Lizana, McHenry and Harrison County responded to the blaze. Sullivan said no one was home when the flames broke out, but a pet dog died in the fire.
Sullivan said the cause of the blaze is under investigation.
