A special needs student who brought a BB gun to Biloxi Junior High School is being disciplined. Biloxi Schools Superintendent Arthur McMillan confirmed the BB pistol was discovered on Oct. 6.
“We take it seriously and the child is being disciplined,” McMillan said.
McMillian said the teacher noticed “the child was acting strangely about his book bag.”
The teacher began talking with the student and took him to the principal’s office, where the BB pistol was discovered.
According to McMillan, the child never brought the BB pistol out of his book bag and did not make any threats.
“We take the safety of our students very seriously and are dealing with it appropriately,” McMillan said.
