GEORGE COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - Gov. Phil Bryant has set a date for the special election to decide who will serve as Ward 1 Supervisor in George County.
Fred Croom was declared the winner of the Aug. 4 Republican Primary, but Bruce Eubanks filed a petition of contest for judicial review in the Nineteenth Circuit Court District.
The court ruled absentee voting laws had been violated, and enough illegal votes had been cast to change the election results. The court vacated the election results and requested Bryant call a special election.
Croom and Eubanks are the only two candidates who will appear on the Nov. 10 special election ballot.
