OCEAN SPRINGS, MS (WLOX) -

Gov. Phil Bryant has signed a warrant to have the suspect in a brutal Ocean Springs assault extradited from Florida to Mississippi.

Cameron May, 24, has been sitting in a Florida jail since he was captured in Destin on Sept. 21. He's accused of attacking and sexually assaulting Barbi Jalanivich at the Dominion Apartments on Sept. 10.

Since May waived his right to an extradition hearing, Florida Gov. Rick Scott must also sign the warrant before May can be returned to Mississippi.

We will keep you updated on this case.
