(Baton Rouge, La.-AP) -- Mississippi moved into a first-place tie in the S-E-C west with a resounding 23-to-10 victory over L-S-U today. Matt Mossberg and Matt Tolbert each homered and drove in four runs as Ole Miss spotted LSU six runs in the first two innings before routing the Tigers. Ole Miss improved to 27-11-and-1 and 11-and-6 in the Southeastern Conference. The Rebels had 23 hits including three doubles, two triples and four home runs. It was the most runs for the Rebels in an SEC game since scoring 21 against Kentucky in 1998 Tolbert was 3-for-6 and scored three runs. His three-run homer in the seventh broke an 8-8 tie. LSU used a team-record eight pitchers. The Tigers beat Ole Miss 15-2 on Friday. The final game of the series is tomorrow.
