BILOXI, MS (WLOX) -

Fresh coffee, a few pastries and good conversation with fellow car enthusiasts at the Cajun RV Park is how many Cruisin The Coast attendees begin their days throughout the week.

However, it's just one of the many reasons they return to South Mississippi each year.

"I love old cars and trucks," said Doug Turnage of Louisiana.

For many others, the event is a mandatory getaway. Even those who aren't cruising in their own cars enjoy visiting each fall, and find ways to have a good time.

"We sit out by the highway and watch the cars go by," said Cheryl Holt. "My sister-in-law and I play cards while the guys really enjoy watching the cars."

While some are spectators, many others, like Turnage and Cliff Simmons of South Carolina, proudly show off their classic rides.

"This is a '65 Riviera and it has special paint and motors, has been redone completely, and has an air ride system on it to make it go up and down.,” said Simmons. “It's just a very enjoyable car to drive. It rides good, drives good and has everything we need!"

From the repeat visitors, to newbies to old friends, people from all around the country enjoy attending Cruising the Coast to view vintage vehicles together.
