PEARL RIVER COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - A sighting of a missing Hancock County K-9 deputy has crews back out searching for Radar.
Deputies report the dog was spotted Tuesday around 2 p.m. in a Pearl River County yard near where the bloodhound went missing after a car accident two weeks ago. But the K-9 ran off before investigators got to the scene Tuesday.
The accident happened on September 22 when Radar and his handler were called to assist the Pearl River County Sheriff's Department during a search for a missing teenager. The crash happened near Burnt Bridge Road in Wheats Curve when the deputy's vehicle was broadsided by another car.
We're told deputies will resume the search for Radar today. Sheriff's officials report a $1,000 reward has been offered by a private citizen for the safe return of Radar.
