MOSS POINT, MS (WLOX) - The City of Moss Point hosted a group of delegates from the nation of Georgia on Tuesday. The visitors are touring several Coast cities to find out more about the democratic style of government.
Mayor Billy Broomfield met with the delegates at city hall to discuss his city's mayor-alderman system. The mayor stressed the city's ability to complete tasks without having to raise taxes because of community involvement.
The delegates also visited the Moss Point riverfront and the Audubon Nature Center.
Community Development Director Kathy Keeton said the group was hoping to learn from the trip in order to provide input in the formation of a more democratic government in Georgia.
Jonathan Brannan was on hand for the meeting today. He will have the full story for you tonight on WLOX News and WLOX.com.
