BILOXI, MS (WLOX) -

David and Linda Daniels of Grantsburg, Indiana, are Cruisin' the Coast in their dream car. The Daniels say they have had their 1961 Chevy Impala for 25 years.

"It came out of Lisbon, North Dakota," said David. "It's been completely restored, frame off. It's been done about the last seven years."

The couple says they may not have put the manual labor into the vintage vehicle's restoration, but they paid a pretty penny to get it in tip-top shape. More than $50,000 worth of work, according to David.

"Yes, we wrote all the checks," Linda says, "somebody else did all the work."

It is only the Impala's second journey to Cruisin' the Coast, its owners enjoy taking the classic car all over.

"We're heading for Florida when we leave here this week," said David. "We've been up to Frankinmuth, Michigan. We've been all over the United States. We figure we've been in almost 32 states."

The vehicle has seen more than 100,000 miles in the last seven years.
