Gov. Bryant orders Mississippi flags flown at half-staff

MISSISSIPPI (WLOX) - Following a mass shooting on a college campus in Oregon, Governor Phil Bryant has ordered all flags on State of Mississippi grounds to be flown at half-staff until sunset Monday.

On Thursday, 26-year-old Chris Haper Merce walked into a class at Umpqua Community College and opened fire. At least nine were killed, and multiple people were injured.

According to witnesses, Merce demanded to know students' religion before shooting them. On Friday, the hashtag #YesIAmAChristian quickly became a trending topic on social media.
