The death of an 18-month-old boy in Pascagoula is being investigated as a murder.

The county coroner's office says Tamarcus Franklin died from blunt force trauma to his abdomen, which caused massive internal bleeding.

Paramedic crews were called to apartment 117 in the Carver Village Housing complex around 1:30 a.m. Thursday. They were told the child had stopped breathing. When they arrived, they found Franklin's lifeless body.

Larry Sanders, 23, has been arrested for the death and charged with capital murder. Sanders is being held at the Pascagoula city jail until an initial court appearance on Monday.
