OCEAN SPRINGS, MS (WLOX) - Ocean Springs police are asking residents for information about an early morning break in at an Ocean Springs jewelry store.
Friday morning, Jessie Treigle got a call that no store owner wants to get.
"I got a phone call around 4:15 a.m. from our alarm company saying that the police department were here and that a burglary had happened," Treigle said.
When Treigle arrived she says glass was everywhere, and she believes the suspects used one of the flower pots that was outside to break the window.
"I saw four police officers taking pictures and looking around, and then once we came in I realized they had also broke into one of our cases that was empty. Just a lot of broken glass," she explained.
Treigle says after looking at surveillance video, she could tell the three suspects didn't get away with much, and escaped by jumping their back fence.
"They definitely got some watches," she said as she looked around. "Other than that, they took some specialty item - the Ocean Springs, Biloxi bracelets that are only sold here at our store, and then they got some very small stainless steel cable bracelets. Nothing that retails more than $85."
Treigle says even though this is an unfortunate loss, she says she's just happy the incident happened when the store was empty.
"Luckily this happened while we were closed and not while we were here. So we're all safe and that's good. We have insurance, we have security, we have cameras so the main thing is that we're safe and that hopefully we catch these guys," she said.
